Basic strategy

The main thing to keep in mind is priority of attacks when you have multiple good targets.

Memorize the following:
Row 1: Mage Academy, Barracks, Lighthouse, Bridge
Row 2: Gates of Nature, Bastion of Fire, Bastion of Ice, Foundry, Spring of the Elements.
Row 3: Citadel.

If you have an attack in multiple rows, Row 3 takes first priority, row 2 takes second priority.
This is general advice for a match we can easily see that we can win but we want to maximize points.

Row 3 building have a 120 capture bonus
Row 2 buildings have a 60 capture bonus
Row 1 buildings have a 40 capture bonus.

So defense gets set up prior to raid, and then you assign offense to best match ups to win the building/place?

Yes I do a review of our defense about an hour before GW starts since I am on at the time to reassign positions depending on who got stronger.

Defense is the easiest par for the general. I have a basic strategy I follow and pick who meets the criteria.

And then no one else has to worry about defense cause defending teams always fight on auto just like in arena.

Only thing you have to worry about is updating your team.

At what time does raid start daily?

Whenever your daily reset is. GW starts at 08:00 GMT an ends at 20:00 GMT.

GW runs for 12 hours

When you go to the GW screen, it says either "XX:XX:XX" until guild war ends or "XX:XX:XX" until next guild war begins. Right above the attack button.

Who can be General?

Anyone who can log on throughout the course of the day and believes they have an understanding of matchups and GW strategy, or anyone who is willing to learn, can message Guild Leader Zem or FenrizGoreRazor.

If being new is the only thing holding you back that won't be a problem. I've only been paying the game about two months and can teach you. But mostly need people willing and who believe they are capable. I don't want anyone as general who doesn't want the job.
