We are most concerned at the moment of the reward differences from winning while being High Rank in Bronze vs losing while being Low Rank in Silver.

The first thing to note is that you can convert Silver Medals into Bronze Medals at a 1:2 ratio in the Guild War shop. So every Silver Medal is the same as having twice as many Bronze Medals.

For the purposes of calculating rewards I will only be considering Champion Rewards as they are the ones who need to be the strongest to win GW.

Winning every match in Bronze League and placing in the top 6 rewards 60 Bronze Medals per victory and an additional 150 at the end of the week for a total of 450 Bronze Medals.

Losing every match in Silver League and placing in the bottom 2 rewards 10 Silver Medals for each loss and an additional 60 Silver Medals and 120 Bronze Medals at the end of the week. This is a total of 120 Bronze and 110 Silver, which converts to 340 Bronze Medals.

So, initially, if we are so outmatched that we are always losing and end the week in the bottom 2, it is far more beneficial to stay in Bronze League where we know we have the skill to maintain top ranks.

One counterpoint would be that we gain Silver Medals, but we are unable to make use of them for how little we gain for the first few weeks. You could only get 5 soul stones of one hero in the first week, not enough to summon. If we save those medals, it takes 390 Silver Medals to summon 1 hero, and it will be at 1 or 2-star rank and have to be leveled to match your main team. This is highly inefficient unless you plan to spend your end-of-the-month hero stones on these heroes.

To balance the rewards, we need some combination of winning matches and placing in at least Rank 7 by the end of the week.

Without writing out the math, it takes 2 wins in Silver League while still placing bottom 2 to barely surpass the max rewards of Bronze League with a total of 460 Bronze Medals.

We could theoretically lose every match in Silver League and place 7th or 8th with specific matchups. This would get us a total of 440 Bronze Medals, 10 under the max for Bronze League. Because this is a very unlikely probability, if we account for even a single win that bumps us up to 500 Bronze Medals.
