Winterfest Event

Preparation For Winterfest
**All information here is based on what is available on the wiki. We will not know of any changes made for the event until it is announced or until the event begins.**

Winterfest is the biggest event in Hero Wars, and can be a bit convoluted in order to prepare for as the entire event is actually made up of 4 separate events over 2 weeks from December 25th to January 7th.
In order to get max rewards for the entirety of the event, you need the following resources:
375 Soul Stones (25/day for 15 days)
45 Pet Summoning Eggs (3/day for 15 days)
180,000 Emeralds (90,000 first week, 90,000 second week)
200 Artifact Chest Keys (second week only)
24,200 Energy (You must complete 1700 campaign missions the first week, and then spend 14,000 Energy the second week)
14 Portal Charges (1/day for 8 days during the first week, and then you must open a total of 21 chests in Adventures over the course of the second week)
This only accounts for minimum resources needed to spend, not necessarily to save. You can still gain many of these resources throughout the event, some of the quest rewards also give these specific resources.
It does not account for things such as completing campaign missions that require more than 6 Energy or failing to open 4 chests in every Adventure.
For Soul Stones, you only need to acquire 25 every day. So if you have saved your Heroic Soul Stone Chests, those give you 50 or 100 depending on the type. Those should be saved for last for an emergency and not be used right away. Try to get your Soul Stones through the event or purchases in the shops first. Elemental Tournament Certificates are very useful to save as 1 Certificate is 5 Soul Stones.
Pet Summoning Eggs are a bit tricky because you cannot spend just one at a time. Although you technically only need 45, since you spend 10 at once if you have that many or more, you would need to save 150 and open 10 a day for the entire event. The only problem with this is that you miss out on 100 pet potions a day (3000/month). The balance to this is that you can potentially get far more pet potions through the event.
You get one guaranteed Pet Summoning Egg through your daily quests when you join an Adventure. You can then hope for the random chance to get more Pet Summoning Eggs through Adventure Chests or through the Winterfest event which has an option for random Pet Summoning Eggs as well. Saving your quests of "Defeat Adventure X boss 3 times" is another way to save your Pet Summoning Eggs.
Buy or spend Emeralds at your discretion.
You are guaranteed 4 Artifact Chest Keys every day. I have mentioned many times in chat that you should be saving in any case, but if you started saving from the time of this post you can still get 116 Artifact Chest Keys by January 1st and another 28 over the course of the second week.
You should be saving Energy Potions for this event. You cannot save Energy once it has been claimed, but if you have Energy in gifts from the mail or in quests for completing missions or reaching a certain level, save those as well. Platinum Boxes and I believe gifts from Boxxy can also contain Energy, though randomly, so save those too. As Winterfest draws nearer, and if you are close to leveling, try to time your level up with Winterfest for the extra Energy from there.
If you use your 1 free Portal Charge every day and get all 4 chests in each Adventure, then you will not need to save any Portal Charges. For this event you should only do adventures for which you know you can guarantee max chests, which you should be doing in any case, but more so here because there is a greater penalty for failure and you may prevent others from completing their quests. You can save Portal Charges as gifts in the Mail or by waiting to claim them in quests until you are ready to use them.
+++++++REGARDING ASCENSION SEASON+++++++
Because the Ascension Season happens to fall in line with Winterfest this year, we can use that to our advantage to save more resources for Winterfest.
If you are not buying the Ascension Gold Ticket, you should save your 24-hour x3 Energy Recovery reward until Winterfest to assist you in completing the Energy-related quests.
If you have bought Gold Ticket, stacking multiple Energy Recovery x3 rewards will increase the duration, so you can claim some of them right away. Just make sure to wait to claim some of them so that the Energy Recovery x3 is active between Dec. 25th and Jan 7th to assist in completing Winterfest quests.
There are multiple heroes to be gained this Season, both for free and for Gold Ticket holders. However, if you do not own the hero or if the hero is less than 3 stars when you claim the reward, this DOES NOT count as gaining Soul Stones. You will need to determine which heroes will benefit you for Soul Stones and whether or not you wish to save them for Winterfest.
You can also save these Heroes for the events which require Soul Stones leading up to Winterfest. I already have enough Soul Stones saved up for all of Winterfest, but if an event occurs between now and then which requires Soul Stones I may have difficulty completing those quests. With the extra Soul Stones from the Ascension Season, I can claim those for other events and save my current resources for Winterfest.
This also applies to shop currency. There are many Outland, Arena and Grand Arena Coin rewards in the Ascension Season. If you plan to use those to buy Soul Stones, you can save them for an event, whether that is Winterfest or another event occurring between now and then.
Do not forget that there are many good events that require Soul Stones, so always save what you so as to be able to complete those quests in other events as well.
Remember to save as many Emerald rewards for Winterfest as you are able.
