Re: The Great Storm Event - Prep, Strategy and What To Buy.
Preparing for The Great Storm:
This is primarily preparation in regards to Free-To-Play players or those with low funds. If you are able to spend money on events, then this is still a good basic guideline but you may just be able to power your way through in either case.
Resources you need to save (you do not need all of these resources Day 1 of the event, but try to have enough so that you can get them by the time the event is over):
80 Pet Summoning Eggs
3 Portal Charges, minimum, in order to open a total of 12 chests during regular adventures.
It is incredibly important that during this event you only do adventures which you can complete getting all 4 chests, as you may be teamed up with those who can get only 3 Portal Charges throughout the event (though I suspect with the news announcements there will be a portal charge gift coming soon). If you make a mistake in adventures during this event, you will be costing yourself and others not only the rewards from an adventure chest but also rewards for the special event.
Like all events, you also want to try and save as much Energy and Emeralds as possible, but you can only get the max rewards by spending money, so just save as much as you can.

Re: The Great Storm Event - Prep, Strategy and What To Buy.
How The Great Storm Works:
The Great Storm Event works similarly to regular Adventures. You get Action Points that work the same as the action points in regular adventures, you spend one action point to move across the map. Action Points for The Great Storm have a different symbol than the ones you get from regular adventure and you cannot use Action Points from one mode in another.
You get Action Points by logging in each day and as rewards for completing quests during the event. You can also buy them for 500 Emeralds each.
If the map has not changed from last time, then there are a total of 57 nodes including the boss. However, you can expect the boss to take a minimum of 3 attacks to kill. Because you start on node #1, you would need a total of 60 Action Points to clear the entire board.
There are 6 Hidden Chests on the map. These are random and different for every single player. However, you will get a notification on the map that a "Chest is nearby" meaning that the chest can be in ANY of the adjacent nodes. You want to get these chests for extra currency to spend in The Great Storm Shop.
The 6 Hidden Chests contain between 4,000-6,000 Storm Coins and the Boss Chest contains 20,000 Storm Coins.
The enemies are scaled to your Team Level when the event begins. If you are about to level up, try to avoid doing so until after the event begins so that you will have easier enemies.
During fights, you will constantly take pure damage from the Storm, and enemies take less damage. AOE healers like Martha and Maya would be useful for this event. The number below each node tells you how strong the storm is, the higher the number, the more damage you take and the fewer damage enemies take.
There are towers called The Harbinger's Stele which function the same as The Eyes of the Herald in regular adventures, buffing the Boss. You will want to destroy these before fighting the boss. There are Altars of Power scattered throughout the map which function the same as in regular adventures as well.
Defeating a squad grants you storm resistance, which will reduce the damage you take from the storm and increase the damage you can do to the enemy. So you want to try and destroy as many of the weaker squads as you can before you fight the stronger squads. You reduce the effects by 5 points per defeated squad. You will need to defeat 47 squads and all three Harbinger's Stele for maximum Storm Resistance.
You will also receive a small amount of Storm Coins for defeating a squad.

What To Buy
The Great Storm Shop can be found here: https://hero-wars.fandom.com/wiki/Speci ... Storm_Shop
This is an incredibly good event for pet resources. There are two strategies I recommend for what to purchase for this event.
The first strategy is simply to buy primarily Pet Soul Chests for your main pet(s). You want to try and get at least one pet to abs star as soon as possible, and this event will give you a huge boost towards that goal. Increasing star ranks for any type of unit is the single strongest boost in power to that unit you can get.
Similar to getting a Hero or Titan to abs star, getting a Pet to abs star will also convert all future soul stones for that pet into Pet Soul Coins, allowing you to purchase more items from the Pet Soul Shop. This gives you an extra source of Chaos Particles, Pet Potions, and Hero Soul Stones.
Soul Stones and Gold needed to go from 0 star to abs star: https://hero-wars.fandom.com/wiki/Soul_Stones/Pet
The second strategy is buying solely, or primarily, Storm Legacy Chests. These are the greatest value item. They can cascade into more chests while providing Pet Summoning Eggs, Chaos Particles, Pet Potions, Gold, and a new Frame and Avatar. This is a good option for those who have not been able to save up the 80 Pet Summoning Eggs to complete the quest events.
It is actually possible to get more total Pet Soul Stones through chests alone, however they are random and you will not necessarily get stones for your preferred pets. This is still a very good investment for the long run because you eventually want to have every single pet maxed out for various builds in the game.
I do not recommend buying any of the Pet Items. They are uncharged and you can buy them fairly cheaply with Chaos Particles or earn a good amount in adventures.

Re: The Great Storm Event - Prep, Strategy and What To Buy.
Strategy.
*NOTE: I am not confident the Wiki has entirely accurate information, so take the following strategy as a general guideline until I can review The Great Storm map after event updates. This also does not account for any changes they might make for this event.*
If you are spending money and you are guaranteed at least 60 Action Points, then I recommend you just attack every single node. Start on the outer "ring" because the inner ring enemies get significantly stronger. Remember to get all buffs and to destroy all Harbinger's Stele.
Although it takes about 60 Action Points to clear the entire board, you only need to clear 47 squads + the three Harbinger's Stele to get maximum Storm Resistance. If you include the Altar of Power buffs, that means you can beat the boss with only about 56 Action Points.
This strategy has a few things to consider. Defeating a squad grants a small number of Storm Coins. The weakest will grant 100, the strongest I have seen is 200.
Skipping any node means you risk losing a Hidden Chest. These contain a minimum of 4000 Storm Coins and are very worth it to go out of your way to find. (Note that you can tell when a chest is nearby on the map, but it only indicates that a chest is ADJACENT to you, it does not tell you which direction the chest is in).
So skipping a few nodes, as long as you do not skip a Hidden Chest, is not too big of a deal when you consider that the Boss Chest grants 20,000 Storm Coins. Always assume it will take a minimum of 3 attacks to defeat the boss, probably more if you were not able to reach maximum Storm Resistance.
Also, keep in mind that you need to capture 53 locations for max rewards on one of the special event quests.

Re: The Great Storm Event - Prep, Strategy and What To Buy.
Videos and Tips.
Misty Kathrine Full Walkthrough, clearing the entire board (pay-to-win strategy):
The above video shows all the steps you would need to take to complete every quest for this event and defeat every squad on the board. Still good to watch for free to play so you have an idea of how many Action Points you can reasonably acquire.
Everyone should also watch it to get an idea for some of the harder battles. A good example is 34:39 in the video where she timed out against a very difficult enemy.
Hero Wars Central, fastest route to the boss (about 50 Action Points):
This is the primary path I recommend most people take. The only exception I would make is that it does not account for all possible Hidden Chest. He seems to say he would be skipping the outermost nodes regardless except for the buffs. However, if a Hidden Chest is located in one of those outer nodes, then you would miss it.
If you take this path, pay attention when you are on nodes 9, 17, 25, 38, 45, and 53. If you get a notification while on those nodes that "A chest is nearby" then it is possible that the Hidden Chest is on one of the nodes that would be skipped in the above path. In that event, I would take that node just to be safe, cause you have no way of knowing until after you pass it if it was a Hidden Chest node.
You can often "triangulate" the position of Hidden Chest by circling around a node. This strategy is not as useful to corner nodes.
I am also not sure that the above path grants maximum Storm Resistance, though he seems to indicate that he will get maximum and it conflicts with info available on the Wiki.
I think it is reasonable that free-to-play can get 33 Action Points for the Great Storm Event. I do not know if that is a reasonable amount to fight the boss considering you won't be getting maximum Storm Resistance and you might have to skip Hidden Chests to get all of the buffs and Harbinger's Stele.
